 MEET NELLY (Nel-bel)

Proudly representing NSW at the 2026 Darwin Polocrosse Nationals! 

Owned by Pippa Cullen, Nelly is the little mare with a whole lot of grit, personality and talent — truly a diamond in the rough who’s turned into an absolute weapon.

 Her Story
We purchased Nelly in mid-2024 after Mum (Bek Cullen) spotted her working at the end of the field and said, “What is that?!” I jumped on, played the rest of the weekend, had the best time ever… and there was no way she wasn’t coming home on our truck!
She’d only had a handful of games under her belt, but she’s stepped up every single time and made us fall in love with her even more.

 Team: Intermediate Women’s
 Rider: Pip Cullen
 Best Position: She’s a little rocket — I mainly play 3, but she’d make a cracking 1.
 Nationals Experience: Darwin 2026 will be her first!
 Celebrity Twin: Beth Dutton — a little wild at times, but tough as nails.
 Quirks: Needs a halter on when unrugging or she’s GONE. And her feed? It must be the perfect level of wetness… or she won’t touch it.
 Biggest Achievement: Winning Lisa McMillan Champion Lady Player @ Cubbaroo 2024.

Nelly might be a bit mad, but she’s ours — and we adore her.
