𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘦

Chinchilla Polocrosse Club has created something pretty special with the Stud Cup — and it all started with a simple but powerful idea.
A few years ago, Aaron and John Mullins saw a gap in the game. Together, they came up with the concept of the Stud Cup — a competition designed specifically for players aged 22–30, running alongside the club’s main carnival.

Why It Matters
This age group is one of the most important — and most vulnerable — in polocrosse.
Coming out of Under 21s and stepping into Open competition isn’t easy. It can be tough to get selected, recognised, and stay competitive at a higher level. At the same time, life starts to ramp up — careers, travel, relationships, and young families — and unfortunately, this is where the sport often loses players.

The Stud Cup was created to change that.
It’s about keeping players involved, giving them a reason to stay connected, and creating a space where they can compete, be seen, and enjoy the game at a high level.

The Beginning – 2022
The inaugural Stud Cup kicked off in 2022, setting the tone for what would become a standout event on the calendar.
Division 1

Runners Up: Petunias Fashion

Division 2
Winners: Intarchilla
Runners Up: Goal Diggers

The prizes made an immediate impact — with Division 1 winners taking home a stallion service fee, thanks to generous donations from leading studs including:

• Carrigans Betterman – Bill & Shelly Taylor
• Berragoon Truce – Matt & Byron Davison
• Caribbean – Damien & Kylie Gould
• Berragoon Conspiracy – Grant Carroll
• Plus a selection from the Grills Family: Gazman, Wings, Nude, Kinky or Expose

Division 2 winners were awarded a beautiful leather breastplate, adding even more incentive to compete.

The Stud Cup isn’t just another competition — it’s a pathway.
It encourages players on the edge of stepping away to stay involved… or even come back. It provides a platform to compete and be recognised, while also offering real opportunities — like winning a stallion service fee, which can be a huge step into breeding quality horses.
