Chinchilla Polocrosse Club has created something pretty special with the Stud Cup โ and it all started with a simple but powerful idea.
A few years ago, Aaron and John Mullins saw a gap in the game. Together, they came up with the concept of the Stud Cup โ a competition designed specifically for players aged 22โ30, running alongside the clubโs main carnival.
Why It Matters
This age group is one of the most important โ and most vulnerable โ in polocrosse.
Coming out of Under 21s and stepping into Open competition isnโt easy. It can be tough to get selected, recognised, and stay competitive at a higher level. At the same time, life starts to ramp up โ careers, travel, relationships, and young families โ and unfortunately, this is where the sport often loses players.
The Stud Cup was created to change that.
Itโs about keeping players involved, giving them a reason to stay connected, and creating a space where they can compete, be seen, and enjoy the game at a high level.

Creating Opportunity
The Stud Cup isnโt just another competition โ itโs a pathway.
It encourages players on the edge of stepping away to stay involvedโฆ or even come back. It provides a platform to compete and be recognised, while also offering real opportunities โ like winning a stallion service fee, which can be a huge step into breeding quality horses.

A Club Vision
For the Chinchilla club, this event represents something bigger.
Itโs about building the future of the sport โ and being known for creating opportunities that matter.
โAt the end of the day, this age group is the future of polocrosse โ and as a club, we wanted to be known for something this specialโฆ a competition worth being part of.โ
