Meet Doolanpartnership Calypso – ASH #247366, a special home-bred mare with both heart and horsepower to burn. Owned by the Doolan Family, ridden at Darwin by Sydnee Johnson. Calypso carries a legacy close to home — she is out of the very first horse Sydnee ever played polocrosse on, by their resident stallion Espresso.

A true family story woven into every chukka.
Proudly representing Queensland in the QLD Open Women, Calypso is stepping onto the national stage for the very first time. Predominantly played as a number 3, she’s the kind of mare that would happily fill any position — all heart, all motor, and never says no to the job.

If Calypso were a famous person, she’d be Serena Williams — super athletic, powerful, and blessed with plenty of junk in her trunk .

Off the field, she’s all love, known as a total smooch who soaks up every bit of attention she can get.

Her biggest achievement to date is winning the Women’s Division at the QLD Club Championships, a milestone that hints at an exciting future ahead. Described as a true sweetheart, Calypso is the spitting image of her dam Orarariver Melissa, who is still playing polocrosse at an incredible 29 years young, now alongside Vinnie, continuing a story that spans generations.
