From Player to Photographer
Polocrosse came first — photography followed. After starting out in English riding and transitioning into polocrosse at 19, time away from the game for family eventually led to a return in 2022… and with it, a camera in hand.
Now, the sport is a huge part of everyday life — deeply involved with the Bowen Polocrosse Club, where there’s plenty happening both on and off the field.
Trackside Style
Simple, reliable, and effective — a good camera and zoom lens combination is the go-to.
In a sport as fast and unpredictable as polocrosse, being able to stay clear of play while still locking onto the action is everything.

Why Polocrosse Photography?
In North Queensland, there hasn’t always been consistent photography coverage across carnivals and club events. That gap became an opportunity — to give players, families, and clubs access to quality images they can look back on and use to promote the sport.
Because let’s be honest… polocrosse has it all — speed, pressure, grit, dust, teamwork, and raw emotion.
On the Field
A Bowen player through and through, with a soft spot for the 2/3 positions — bringing real game insight into every shot captured.
Reading the Play
Knowing the game makes all the difference behind the lens.
Anticipating a pick-up, a throw, a ride-off or a breakaway means the shot is ready before it even happens — not after.
What Stands Out Most
Sure, the big plays are great — a clean pick-up or fast break never disappoints — but it’s the subbies that really steal the show.
There’s nothing better than capturing the smiles, the laughs, and the pure enjoyment of kids out there having a crack.
Favourite Moments
Not always the loudest ones…
Sometimes it’s:
A kid walking off proud after a game
Families cheering from the sideline
Teammates celebrating a hard-fought chukka
That split-second connection between horse and rider
Those are the moments that stick.
