Her Story
MJ was purchased in 2019 from her breeders Greg and Deb Davidge of Future Stock Horses. Bought during the drought, she swapped dry paddocks for the lush green pastures of Tasmania β and promptly picked up bucking as an occasional hobby . Originally bought for Elesha, MJ was briefly passed on to her husband after a few surprise dismountsβ¦ but fate had other plans.
After the heartbreaking loss of a special playing horse, Elesha took the ride back on MJ. From that moment, MJ knew she had a job to do β and a special partnership was born. This tough-as-nails mare gave Elesha back her love for the game, forming a bond built on trust, grit and heart.

No. 3 β Quick out of the line-up, strong in the contest, and always ready to put her body on the line.

Quirks & Personality
At home, MJ is one of the laziest horses you could swing a leg over. Game day? Completely different horse. Ears up, switched on, job-ready.
She also enjoys a well-timed buck β particularly when fresh and especially at club or state trainings early in the season. Her most memorable moment? An involuntary (and highly embarrassing) dismount at the NSW coaching weekend in early 2025 .
More Than a Polocrosse Horse
MJ is also an open campdrafter and a talented showjumper β although the first five minutes in a jumping saddle are not for the faint-hearted.
