Smokey is a much loved member of our family; he is reliable, safe, sensible and affectionate.

He has been ridden at home by children (8-10 years old) as well as inexperienced/beginner adult riders. Smokey has also proven himself in the polocrosse arena, playing 3 busy seasons in the A grade under both men and women, as well as a few games in the C grade with players that are new to the sport.

Smokey has played all positions in polocrosse and adjusts his game to suit the ability of his rider, making him extremely forgiving and adaptable.

He would ideally be suited to a family wanting a safe, dependable horse for themselves that their children can eventually step onto. Or a player wanting a seasoned safe horse to go have some fun on.

Smokey is very easy to handle and is an absolute pleasure to have around. He is great to catch/shoe/clip/float and has absolutely no vices. He is great to bring back into work after a long spell with no nasties.

He is a talented and well schooled horse; however, while he successfully played A grade for 3 seasons, he simply does not have the speed to remain competitive in men’s A grade.

With young horses coming through, we feel Smokey would be better suited to someone looking for a safe, experienced and consistent horse they can just load up and play.

Smokey is currently in work, shod and ready to go this season.
